Bartender in the lounge was a very personable young man.
After 2 nights at this hotel and our departure, On 3 consecutive days we made calls from Washington in an effort to retrieve the charging plug and cord for my iPad. Notwithstanding promises to call with information, no calls were made to us with the result that we diverted to Harrisburg on our return drive to Toronto to inquire in person and for the fourth time. The manager on duty acknowledged that he had the message on his desk and said that the charger had not been found in the room (where it had been left plugged in to the lamp socket). He offered no explanation for their failure to call with their "findings" and lamely apologized. This happened on the day the "Sandy" storm struck and added unnecessarily to a very stressful drive. This was a pathetic failure in elementary customer service.
easy to find, pleasant, helpful staff at main desk and concierge
the parking process. it was an incredibly amateurish operation with no apparent standing operating procedures. The female with the peasant maxi-skirt and metalic objects produding from her lips was more confusing than helpful.
The room was extremely clean and well kept.
The bathroom door did not close, and the toilet looked like it was in a public restroom -- the flusher was one of those bare, steel ones that you just kick when you're done because you don't want to touch it. The bathroom door didn't close all the way. The ice machine on our floor didn't work, nor did the one of the floor below us; had to go two floors down to get ice. The pool was closed when we were there.
I liked the cleanliness and upscale atmosphere for the price. Good value for the price and the location to Government offices.
I didn't like the pool being under construction and having to wait in a long line to check in.
Hotel staff tried to make up for inaccuracy in the room accommodations with free breakfast for four of our 5 guest and they brought a refrigerator in the room for medication..
I reserved 2 rooms with 2 queen size beds and hadicap accesibility. Neither were honored. In addition , the refrigerator they brought in the room for my daughter's insulin was not very cool.
Close to Hersheypark.Room ready for check-in early.A lot of floors.Right downtown.Safe neighborhood.Beautiful lobby.Valet parking w/ in & out priviledges for $18 per day.Friedly professional staff.Comfortable.
Wouldn't accept a cash deposit
Nothing. It was filthy and falling apart and looked nothing like the pictures you showed on your site
A. Valet Parking B. Clean rooms C. Location (#1) D. Friendly Staff E. Attractive Decor
A. Out dated cooling systems in rooms (had to switch rooms) B. waited over 15 minutes for car, when we were the only ones waiting. C. A bit overpriced
I stay at hotels more than half the year and the one thing that stands out anywhere is a staff that makes one feel at home. I enjoyed speaking with the staff from the front desk personnel (Anna stands out) to the guys who bring out the cars.
There should be a weight bench in the fitness room that is not attached to the all-purpose monstrosity in there. Weight benches allow us to use the free weights more effectively.
Our room was very nice. The bed and pillows were probably the most comfortable we have had at a hotel. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful.
One recommendation - change the brand of coffee you provide with the in-room coffee maker. There are much, much better brands out there!
The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly and were available for questions or anything that you needed!!! I would stay at the Crowne Plaza again!!!1
We liked the location in downtown Harrisburg near the river. We took walks by the river in the evening and next morning. We also found a great restaurant, Bricco, right behind the hotel. It is conveniently located and easy to get to from the highway, while being a short walk to the capitol. The beds are high and very comfortable and the room was large and spacious.
The walls are very thin! We had noisy people next door who came in at 2:00am and talked loudly. I don't think there were many people in the hotel at the time and I wish they had not been placed next door to us.
Ladies at the reception were nice. Hershey's Chocolate World worth to be seen.
Got a car with Check Engine light on from the valet parking. Found that gas cap was open. According to the remaining miles gauge I had enough gas for 208 miles when I left the car at night, 110 miles in the morning. Was that gas sucked off from the tank, or somebody took the car for a ride or drug trafficking - I do not know. I did not have any proof for that, and already left the parking, so did not come back - anyway valet parking is not responsible for anything. I will never come back to this hotel again.
The location was horrible. Harrisburg is now a defunct city and there are a lot of shady characters around the hotel. The facilities are old and not maintained. The gym was dirty and had broken machines. There were cob webs on the gym windows.
I was under the impression from Booked.net that it was a new hotel or newly renovated hotel. However, it is a very old hotel and other than the very comfortable bed, that is quite obvious. Honestly, I'd have stayed at the Hilton had I not been under the impression that the Crowne Plaza was "new."
